Acer Introduces First 21: 9 Curved Monitor with Eye-Tracking Technology and New Line of Predator Gaming Monitors

Las Vegas, January 3, 2017 – Acer today unveiled the Predator Z301CT, the first 21:9 monitor with Tobii eye-tracking functionality , which won the “Best Innovation” award at CES 2017. Also introduced were two new models in the Predator XB2 series of flat-panel displays, a 24,5-inch and a 27-inch, both boasting a high 240Hz refresh rate. All three models feature a rugged design with sleek black bezels, sharp angles, and crimson accents, as well as NVIDIA® G-SYNC™ technology ^for uninterrupted gaming sessions.

Acer Predator Z301CT - The first curved monitor with Eye-Tracking

The 30-inch Acer Predator Z301CT is a cornerstone of gaming immersion , as evidenced by its "Best Innovation" award at CES 2017 in the PC peripherals category. Integrated Tobii eye-tracking technology adds to the gamer's arsenal, helping them aim, shoot, and explore intuitively. Designed to complement, rather than replace, traditional gaming peripherals, Tobii's eye-tracking technology uses the player's eye movements to create a new mode of interaction. Eye-tracking, in conjunction with a mouse and keyboard or a gamepad, provides a richer, more immersive experience for the player, who will be able to mimic real-life actions such as looking for cover or aiming at a target. The camera angles also automatically rotate when the player's gaze focuses on the screen frame, while the game's characters and environments react to the player's movements. Tobii's eye-tracking functionality can be found in up to 45 titles, including Elite: Dangerous, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and WATCH_DOGS 2™. The game's sounds and graphics will dynamically adapt depending on where the players are looking. Furthermore, the ultra-wide (2560 x 1080) curved Full HD screen with an 1800R curvature makes the gaming experience even more immersive and powerful.

Also noteworthy is a very fast refresh rate of 200Hz and a response time of 4ms. Wide 178-degree viewing angles and an extremely narrow frame offer maximum viewing area. For optimal comfort, the screen can also be tilted from -5º to 35º and reaches 4,7 inches (120mm) from top to bottom to provide the most comfortable viewing position. Two 3W speakers with DTS ™ Sound system deliver audio quality that deepens the feeling of immersion.

New Predator XB2 Series - Ultra-fast 240Hz refresh rate

The Predator XB2 series was developed from the ground up to perform at the high intensity typical of gaming tournaments . Equipped with NVIDIA® ULMB™ technology, a blazing-fast 1ms response time, and a 240Hz refresh rate, the 24,5-inch Predator XB252Q and 27-inch Predator XB272 monitors deliver an incredibly realistic gaming experience with lightning-fast action, crisp visuals, and spectacular transitions rendered smoothly without ghosting.

Its incredible image quality is only possible thanks to its 1080p resolution and a contrast ratio of 1.000: 1. Its frameless Zero Frame design is ideal for multi-screen setups and its ergonomic stand design allows gamers to find the perfect viewing angle with a -5 to 20 degree tilt, +45 to -45 degree swivel, pivoting up to 90 degrees clockwise and up to 115mm high. Monitors can easily be detached from their VESA wall mount base if you are looking to maximize desk space, as well as free cable space with a convenient clip. They come equipped with two 2W speakers.

All-new Predator models

Equipped with GameView technology, gamers can easily switch between three customizable monitor profiles to fine-tune in-game settings without having to navigate the OSD menu—a significant advantage when every second counts.
