ASUS Republic of Gamers Introduces Zephyrus M (GM501)

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the Zephyrus M, the world's thinnest gaming laptop powered by up to 7th Gen Intel Core i8 processors and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics.

The Zephyrus M incorporates an IPS screen with 144HZ refresh rate, 3ms response time and NVIDIA G-SYNC ™ technology. It also features Active Aerodynamic System (AAS), a technology that enhances cooling during high workloads. Exclusive ROG software lets you switch between dedicated and integrated graphics: Power-saving Optimus mode prolongs battery life, while G-SYNC mode takes advantage of the full performance of the GeForce GTX 10 graphics series.

Powered by 8th generation Intel Core i7-8750H processors, 16GB of dual channel DDR4 2666MHz RAM, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics, the ROG Zephyrus M delivers a level of performance typical of gaming desktops. It also incorporates the latest in storage technology: up to a 2GB M.3.0 NVMe ™ PCIe® 4 x512 SSD and a 1TB Seagate® FireCuda ™ SSHD.

The most precise and fluid action

The Zephyrus M sports a 15,6-inch IPS screen with 144HZ refresh rate, 3ms response time and NVIDIA G-SYNC ™ technology; characteristics that ensure a totally fluid action free of defects. In addition, the panel covers 72% of the NTSC color gamut, offers excellent contrast and, thanks to Wide-View technology, offers perfect images from any angle.

Active Aerodynamic System (AAS)

The Zephyrus M is equipped with AAS, a cutting-edge design that allows you to take advantage of its full performance and control temperature and noise emissions. When you open the notebook, the rear of the chassis opens, increasing the space available for air circulation by 20%. In this way, it is possible to increase ventilation by 32% and reduce the internal temperature by 20%.

When the display is open, the 4-quadrant anti-dust design prevents particles from getting inside the chassis. In parallel, the patented ADC system expels dust through two dedicated channels, preventing it from accumulating on the heatsink fins. The two high-performance fans push hot air through the ultra-thin heatsinks, and the heat pipe architecture independently cools the CPU, GPU, and chipset power components.

Exclusive software to switch GPUs

The Zephyrus M is the first laptop to switch between power saving modes (integrated graphics) and dedicated graphics. Optimus mode disables NVIDIA G-SYNC and provides up to 6 hours of Wi-Fi browsing. On the other hand, the G-SYNC mode allows to squeeze every last drop of graphics performance from the Zephyrus M and offers the best gaming experience. Both modes can be accessed from the intuitive ROG Gaming Center interface.

Aura lighting

Aura Sync technology allows you to customize and synchronize LED lighting effects with Aura-compatible mice, keyboards, and other peripherals. Lighting effects respond to the beat of the music, changes in CPU temperature, and include color cycles. Different color combinations can also be programmed from the convenient interface.
