# CES2019: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 is here, next-gen gaming takes off
Table of Contents
NVIDIA today announced the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, bringing the revolutionary Turing GPU architecture to 10 million PC gamers worldwide.
The RTX 2060 GPU boasts exceptional performance in modern games, with enhanced ray-traced graphics and new capabilities delivered by Artificial Intelligence. With a price of 369 euros, RTX 2060 brings levels of performance and functions available, until now, only in the high-end GPUs.
The RTX 2060 is 60% faster in current games than the previous generation: GTX 1060, NVIDIA's most popular GPU, and also outperforms the GTX 1070Ti. With Turing's RT Core and Tensor Core cores, you can run Battlefield V with ray tracing at 60 frames per second.
RTX 2060 will be available worldwide starting January 15 from most assemblers, equipment builders, and graphics card partners.
"Next-gen gaming starts today for 10 million gamers around the world," explained NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang, who introduced the RTX 2060 at the start of CES. “Desktop PC gamers are demanding and the new RTX 2060 sets a new standard, an unbeatable price, extraordinary performance and real-time ray tracing that blurs the differences between movies and games. This is a great time for the players and our industry. "
The power of Turing
The RTX 2060 introduces a major update to the core of multiprocessors to more efficiently handle the most demanding compute loads of today's games. It supports the concurrent execution of floating points and integrates operations, adaptive shading technology and a new unified memory architecture with twice the cache compared to its predecessor. Today's games can use these features to achieve twice the performance of a GTX 1060 GPU.
The RTX 2060 comes equipped with 6GB of GDDR6 memory and 240 Tensor Core that offer 52 teraflops of power for deep learning, which can improve gaming performance thanks to a feature known as Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS).
DLSS scales a deep neural network to extract multidimensional functions in scene rendering and intelligently combine details from multiple frames to build a high-quality final image. The result is a clear, sharp image with a quality similar to traditional rendering, but with higher performance.
Battlefield V with DLSS coming soon
Electronic Arts and DICE will soon release an update for Battlefield V that incorporates support for DLSS, as well as additional optimizations for real-time ray tracing. Together DLSS and ray tracing enable gamers to achieve incredible imaging and performance.
Previous version testing shows that RTX performance with DLSS and ray tracing on at the same time can deliver a frame rate comparable to what would be achieved with ray tracing off.
Powerful Capture and Share Tools with GeForce Experience
RTX 2060 comes with GeForce Experience ™, an application that makes PC gaming more accessible and offers unique features that are easy to use while gaming such as:
- NVIDIA Highlights - which automatically captures the best moments during a game. Games that have recently come out and include support for Highlights: Deuterium Wars, Dirty Bomb, Dying Light: Bad Blood, Europa (Ring of Elysium), Extopia, GRIP, Hitman 2, Insurgency Sandstorm, Justice, Knives Out PC Plus, Lost Ark, Shadow of Tomb Raider, Switchblade, and X-Morph: Defense.
- NVIDIA Ansel - allowing gamers to take amazing photos while they play. Games that have recently come out and include support for Ansel: Deep Rock Galactic, GRIP, Hitman 2, Insurgency Sandstorm, Ride 3, and Shadow of Tomb Raider. Players can share their photos and be eligible to win monthly prizes at Shot with GeForce.
- NVIDIA Freestyle - which allows gamers to customize the look of a game with post-processing technology. The latest filters can turn your game or captures into an oil painting, watercolor effect, or give a retro '80s movie look right into the game.
Pack with Anthem, Battlefield V
For a limited time, players who purchase a promotion-compatible GeForce RTX 2060 card, or a desktop PC that includes an RTX 2060, will be able to choose between receiving a copy of Anthem or Battlefield V. This promotion is available in most countries. of the world, including Spain.
Availability and price
