Razer Chroma exits the monitor to create immersive, customizable experiences around the gamer. More news in the future
LAS VEGAS (CES 2017), January 5, 2017 – Razer, the world’s leading lifestyle brand for gamers, announced that its Razer Chroma™ lighting technology will be available in third-party products, and at the same time unveiled “Project Ariana,” the first video projection system designed for total immersion in video games.

Razer Chroma is the world's largest RGB gaming lighting platform, with more than 5 million devices sold to date. Its added value is found in the fact that the best games of the moment are integrated into the Razer Chroma platform, with examples in Blizzard's “Overwatch”, Activision's “Call of Duty®: Black Ops 3”, Devolver Digital's “Shadow Warrior 2” , and many more.
A growing number of hardware partners have come together to empower immersive gaming solutions in their products, thanks to the Razer Chroma platform; counting on Lenovo, NZXT, Antec, Lian Li, Wicked Lasers and Nanoleaf. This entry into the Razer Chroma ecosystem will be made possible by the Razer Chroma Module, a hardware and software API available to our partners.
Likewise, Razer announces its agreement with Phillips Lightning to seek lighting solutions in the room, which allows to create immersive experiences.
We are going to see an example of the future of Razer Chroma technology in the “Ariana Project”, where we take the concept of custom RGB lighting and add it to video projection for a new dimension within the immersive gaming experience, where gamers can enjoy real-time video and lighting effects during their games. The result is solutions for gamers, ranging from a wide range of peripherals to video projection for a better and immersive gaming experience.
“ Project Ariana is a concept design that showcases the power and potential of the Razer Chroma platform in a pre-Virtual Reality state, bridging the gap between gamers and games ,” said Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. “ Video projection, a customizable multi-color system, and the intelligent responsiveness of our Razer Chroma platform will change the way we see and enjoy video games today. We are working with our partners on a path toward a new and enriching visual solution .”

The Ariana Project is a high definition video projector that uses a wide-angle “fisheye” lens and has advanced processing capabilities to extend the gameplay experience to the entire room. This system adapts the projection of the game elements to the dimensions and characteristics of the physical environment where the player is. This is done thanks to a pair of 3D depth detection cameras, added to a calibration software that detects environmental elements such as furniture and existing lighting to make the best exposure in any room.
This concept will be exhibited to all visitors to the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas at Razer's booth - South Hall 3 booth: 30320.
“ This is the future, as we see it, of Razer Chroma technology ,” Tan stated. “ We’re working on a video projection technology designed to fully immerse players in games for a more immersive experience. A video game that can literally surround a player would complete the gaming ecosystem, bridging the gap between game and player. ”
