SAMSUNG Announces Official Support for Radeon FreeSync

AMD and Samsung today officially announced support for Radeon FreeSync technology on the new range of Samsung QLED TVs from 55 ”to 82”, bringing the 4K gaming experience. ultrawide to an entirely new format, large screen TVs, powered by AMD's adaptive upgrade technology. 

Radeon FreeSync-enabled displays offer gamers a number of benefits, including: 

  • Exceptional gaming experiences: FreeSync technology syncs a screen's refresh rate with the frame rate of compatible Radeon graphics cards, to eliminate visual artifacts such as screen tearing, input lag, and stuttering.
  • Access to a growing ecosystem: AMD continues to expand the ecosystem, powering the game tear-free beyond PC with the release of FreeSync support on Microsoft's Xbox One S and Xbox One X consoles in early March.
  • Winning Open Innovation: Through industry standards such as FreeSync, AMD is offering the PC and console ecosystem technologies that significantly enhance gamers' experiences, with more than 250 compatible displays from more than 20 partners.

With HDR support up to 1.000 nits and impressive picture quality, Samsung's QLED monitors allow gamers experience surprisingly high refresh rates and low latency on televisions with a variety of price points and screen sizes, creating a single monitor for all your home entertainment needs.

FreeSync technology for Samsung's 2018 QLED TV range is available today for the QLED 55 ”- 82” models and the NU8000 / NU8500 55 ”- 82” series. Will be offered as part of an automatic player mode update. Check for updates on the official Samsung website www.samsung.com.
