Synology Announces Release of Official Version of DiskStation Manager 6.2
Synology has announced the official release of DiskStation Manager (DSM) 6.2, which offers a more reliable, efficient and secure experience when using a NAS server.
The new Synology Advanced LUN, iSCSI Manager and Storage Manager applications provide professional users with a stable and powerful data protection solution. This update takes management efficiency and stability to an unprecedented level.
“Eight months ago, we launched our DSM 6.2 beta program, which has seen over 71.000 downloads, and during this time we have received valuable feedback from users. With the DSM 6.2 update, we focused on the stability and performance of the new features,” said Derren Lu, CEO of Synology Inc. “In this time, we have invested many hours testing on hundreds of machines to make DSM more stable and provide greater IT management flexibility in all aspects. Synology NAS servers not only serve as a network storage device, but provide a powerful and wide range of services and applications for businesses.”

New storage technologies that improve its efficiency:
- Storage managerSynology introduces a new component, Storage Pool, to provide a smooth and consistent storage management experience. It offers a new dashboard with rich and useful information that includes a new functionality called Data Scrubbing that ensures an easy way to remove irrelevant data effortlessly.
- ISCSI Manager- This is a dedicated and revamped management tool for iSCSI service that provides a new type of LUN with more refined technology for snapshots. Based on the Btrfs file system, it enables snapshots to be taken in seconds, regardless of LUN size.
Maximize service uptime with reliable failover plans
- Synology High Availability 2.0: Synology completely revamps this app with this update and provides a robust system and easy-to-follow troubleshooting process. Additionally, all designs have been refined to offer streamlined system updates, more intuitive operations, faster initial setup, and a new monitoring interface.
Complete security protection in connection and access
- Security Advisor: Security Advisor uses smart techniques to detect abnormal logins and analyze the location of potential attackers. DSM will send notifications when it detects any unusual login activity. With a single click, IT administrators can review a daily or monthly report on the security analysis of the DSM system.
- TLS / SSL profile level- Specifying a TLS / SSL Profile Level provides each network service with its own TLS / SSL connection profile. It offers users a more flexible way to configure network security.
New package center that improves the search service
- Package center- Completely redesigned Package Center enables users to quickly find everything they need with a rotating banner, clearer categorization, and improved search capabilities.
