ZTE Introduces Industry's First AI-Based 5G Partition System Ready for Commercial Use

ZTE, the world's leading provider of telecommunications equipment, has unveiled the first commercial-ready AI-based 5G partition system, CloudStudio, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in Barcelona.

This system from ZTE introduces the novel 3A concept: Awareness, Automation and AI (Knowledge, Automation and Artificial Intelligence) that supports agile partitioning, intelligent analysis and fast automatic repair. It significantly simplifies the operation of the 5G network, improves the efficiency of operations and maintenance by more than 30% and reduces the cost of construction of the network by 20%.

Leveraging machine learning and advanced algorithm technologies, ZTE’s CloudStudio network partitioning system for operators generates a repository of over 8.000 RCA (root cause analysis) rules based on ZTE’s rich O&M experience in over 400 cloudification projects worldwide, with the advantage of supporting online scaling and upgrade.

ZTE's CloudStudio system implements automatic smart alarm filters based on time, correlation, and other policies. It matches the RCA rules repository on your system and quickly locates the actual root cause within several minutes, greatly reducing the complexity of operations and maintenance.

Additionally, ZTE CloudStudio performs seamless management and dynamic tuning of private cloud and public cloud resources. When the service workload peaks, CloudStudio can automatically activate the public cloud to allocate resources on demand. When services return to normal, the system releases resources from the public cloud. Therefore, CloudStudio enables operators to avoid the need to build the network according to the maximum service capacity, effectively saving the cost of network construction by 20%.

Additionally, by partitioning the network, operators can create multiple virtualized end-to-end networks on the same physical infrastructure to provide quality-assured and differentiated network services to multiple verticals.

As the world's leading provider of integrated communications solutions, ZTE actively collaborates with operators and partners in vertical industries, including smart public grids, industrial controls, and unmanned aerial vehicles, to advance the commercial deployment of 5G partitioning. Meanwhile, ZTE enables operators to develop new business models, such as B2B and B2B2C based on the traditional B2C model, creating great opportunities to integrate into the 5G ecosystem.
