NVIDIA develops eGPU systems based on Quadro and Titan Xp graphics for photo and video editing professionals to offer more power to those using compact notebook computers.

Laptops have a major problem and it is that of graphics cards, which tend to become obsolete in a short time or are not powerful enough. Thunderbolt offers us the possibility of making use of different external elements, thanks to the great bandwidth that it offers and has allowed the development of systems that allow us to install graphics cards externally, which allows us to avoid updating the equipment or acquiring systems something simpler and install one of these heavy duty graphics. NVIDIA knows the potential of these systems and has developed external GPUs with Quadro and Titan Xp graphics.

These days AMD has taken center stage and possibly they have been developing these eGPUs for some time, but to divert their gaze a bit, they have presented these graphics systems based on Quadro and Titan Xp. The idea is to offer extra power to designers who work through laptops. NVIDIA has secured several hardware partners for the development of these eGPUs, including Bizon, Magma and Sonnet, who will develop compatible systems to hit the market in September.

Bob Pette, NVIDIA VP of Professional Visualization, who has said that notebook systems are becoming increasingly compact, light and thin, but that has an impact on performance and memory, which are limited. Bob says that "our eGPUs can now solve this problem, allowing creatives to connect our GPUs, to be able to do their work better in the most demanding applications from a graphic point of view".

There is not much more data regarding these systems, since from what we see, it has only been the announcement of these systems and it will be in September when more data and information will be specified in this regard. An interesting solution from NVIDIA, which is sure to help graphic and video design professionals in their daily work.
