NVIDIA would be working with Samsung, to manufacture some specific models of Volta in 14nm, which will allow to launch alternative solutions to the Titan V, without sacrificing excessively the consumption and with a lower price.

While we are getting used to the idea that we will not see graphics cards from NVIDIA, in the short term, the company continues to work, in this case on its solutions for the professional segment. It appears that NVIDIA plans to make some Voltas in another manufacturing process. Currently these graphics cards are based on the 12nm node, but they could choose to make some more 'economical' models, under Samsung's 14nm node, to offer more solutions within a segment, the professional, very profitable for the company.

The current NVIDIA Titan V, the most powerful monster with these new GPUs, is manufactured in 12nm, specifically in the TSMC process. The normal thing is that the company's commitment, by increasing the size of the node, is the development of equally powerful solutions, but less than this, which would sacrifice power and energy efficiency, but would postulate other solutions in the market, for other uses or simpler uses and would be more affordable, of course.

Volta has been very well received in the professional segment, due to the Tensor Cores, which have been designed for Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning, among others. These two fields are booming and the company has become a benchmark in these fields. What it brings is an improvement in the characteristics of its products, more income and therefore more research and development power.

Meanwhile, gaming and mining users have a promise from NVIDIA to do their best to increase the production of graphics cards. It seems to be because of this agreement with Samsung, that in addition to Volta, they will also manufacture some other GPU models and it is possible that TSMC will also be asked to increase production, although there is no accurate data.
