Opinion: Bitcoin Gold or Bitcoin Scrap?
Bitcoin Gold, at the moment it is staying in Bitcoin Scrap, since nobody really knows who is behind this cryptocurrency and the code of it is not the best.
Many of us have gotten up hoping to have the same amount of Bitcoin as Bitcoin Gold, at least in Bittrex, since one of the largest exchange houses, yesterday blocked the deposits and withdrawals of Bitcoin within the exchange house, to waiting for the hardfork. Today in Bittrex we should already have Bitcoin Gold, but it is not like that, the exchange house has not yet introduced this new cryptocurrency, claiming security. So, are we looking at Bitcoin Gold or Bitcoin Scrap?
A few weeks ago we already started to comment on BTG and at that time there was already talk of a possible scam, since there was no reliable data, the code shown was quite sloppy and incomplete and it is unknown, to this day, who is behind it this cryptocurrency or what it will be used for, we don't even have a reference value that can tell us how good it is. Just the opposite of what happened with Bitcoin Cash, a currency that arrived mature, that showed muscle and that is now worth the same, more or less, than other cryptocurrencies such as Zcash, Ethereum or Dash.
BTG's situation right now is a technical limbo, since Bittrex officially recognizes it, but does not add it, simply because they cannot guarantee its operability, the code is not complete, so they cannot mine the 8.000 blocks planned and there could be a massive sale of tokens by the developers (whoever they are) and devalue this cryptocurrency to nothing, while a few are lined up. The situation is highly complex, why fool ourselves and we do not have data on when these coins will be given to us, if they are given to us.
With Bitcoin Gold they have played with the interest of many users, which is to mine a Bitcoin with GPU, something we remember, it is absurd to do at the moment, because Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash are based on the SHA256 encryption, which is intended to be mined with CPU. Mining with GPUs has long since ceased to be viable for Bitcoin and that distances Bitcoin from users, since ASICs are expensive and highly inefficient, energy speaking, something that causes electricity costs to make mining impossible for the majority of users.
The term Bitcoin is very sonorous, but you cannot live or you cannot validate a touch only because it has BTC in its name. We must be prudent in this term and perhaps Bittrex, launching itself to admit this cryptocurrency or announce the inclusion, were a bit harsh, since it was known even before that officially this cryptocurrency did not have the necessary guarantees. Be that as it may, at the moment BTG is worth nothing, it is not even a token, and the look is that it will end up being a chestnut that will not go anywhere. I hope I'm wrong.
