A Huawei executive was arrested in Poland for collaborating with the Chinese government
A new arrest adds to the complications that Huawei has in order to maintain a public image. This time it is for collaborating with the Chinese intelligence services.
Huawei is a company that is having serious complications to be able to give an image of integrity. The company is a global communications giant that has been involved in numerous cases, and today another more than notable problem is reported, affecting its division in Poland.
According to the Polish intelligence agency, the ABW, a Huawei executive has been arrested in the country, for the alleged collaboration he has had with the Chinese intelligence services, an illegal management by exchange of privileged information. The manager is Weijing W, who has been arrested along with Piotr D, a former ABW official, who has a shady past after being accused of corruption in the ABW technology sector until 2011, although he was never charged for it.
Huawei executive detained in Poland
Both executives have been detained in Poland and could face 10-year prison terms if sufficient evidence and testimony were found to convict them of collaborating with Chinese intelligence systems.
Huawei is once again in the spotlight for its collaboration with the Chinese government. It is true and known that it has a lot of support from China to expand its presence in other countries, always within acceptable international legality, but these types of accusations are not few and it is already being questioned in many public award tenders . A new arrest of a Huawei executive is not something that makes them look good when their image is constantly damaged by these types of cases with worldwide implications.
