ASUS Releases BIOS Update for Z200 Series Boards and Support for Intel Optane

ASUS confirms the arrival of a new BIOS to motherboards with the Z200 Series chipset to offer compatibility with Intel Optane drives.

The arrival of the Intel Optane units requires that the BIOS be updated and for this the manufacturers already announce BIOS compatible with these units. ASUS has been the last to join this update, announcing a BIOS update for its motherboards with Z200 Series chipset, to offer support to these units. The new Intel Optane at the moment are designed primarily to be used as cache memory and streamline certain tasks and processes. In order to use one of these units we need at least one M.2 SSD port and at least an Intel i3 Kaby Lake processor, since as we have known, the Pentium and the Celeron based on Kaby Lake will not support these units.
