Synology Introduces 423-Bay DS4 for Homes and Small Businesses

The Synology brand has just launched the new 423-bay DS4, the latest addition to the Value series. This NMAS for both home and business use has been designed as a multi-purpose storage solution.

The size and capacity of the DS423, which supports a maximum of 72TB of storage without processing; make it the perfect solution for remote employees or small businesses looking to consolidate data into a centralized platform. It also allows you to gain access to Synology's essential data management applications.

What the DS423 offers in its 4-bay format

Supported by operating system DiskStationManager (DSM) from Synology, the DS423 NAS includes solutions for organizing and protecting data, collaborating across locations, and protecting facilities with video surveillance. The operating system takes advantage of the Btrfs file system to provide automatic file recovery and to create point-in-time snapshots. Thus, users of any level can revert any unintended change to a file, or counter malicious attacks.

Users who want to reduce local bandwidth and storage usage can do so by relying on the power of the cloud. Synology Hybrid Share allows users to store data in Synology C2 data centers while storing frequently accessed files locally on one or multiple Synology NAS systems. Its advantages include reduced local storage space, reliable multi-sync, and fast local access at LAN speeds.

On the other hand, Synology Surveillance Station offers a video management system that is currently used to protect more than 500.000 sites around the world. It offers ONVIF compatibility and is compatible with more than 8300 validated IP cameras. With this model, they can be easily configured and managed up to 30 cameras. Its built-in features help encrypt, backup, archive recordings, and record footage simultaneously to the cloud.

Synology DS423 is now available in select regions. The guarantee lasts for 4 years.
