QNAP Systems, Inc. today introduced the high-performance TVS-hx74 series of QuTS hero NAS, including the 474-bay TVS-h4, 674-bay TVS-h6 and 874-bay TVS-h8. These models also incorporate multi-core, multi-thread 12th generation Intel Core processors.
The TVS-hx74, running the ZFS-based QuTS hero operating system, is presented as a model that guarantees data integrity and supports block-level online data deduplication and compression , a virtually unlimited number of snapshots, and real-time SnapSync. With PCIe Gen 4 expandability, NVMe M.2 SSD caching , and 2,5GbE connectivity, the TVS-hx74 addresses the demanding enterprise challenges of application servers, virtualization, backup, and storage.

The TVS-hx74 adopts 12th generation Intel Core and Pentium Gold CPUs, supports up to 128GB of dual-channel DDR4 memory, and includes two 2,5GbE ports that offer higher speeds using Port Trunking. Its M.2 2280 PCIe slots allow the TVS-hx74 to use PCIe NVMe SSDs to improve IOPS performance when configuring the SSD cache. PCIe Gen 4 slots are included to expand the functions of the main NAS, such as adding 10/25GbE network adapters, QM2 cards to add M.2 SSDs and 2,5GbE/10GbE ports, basic graphics cards to allow pass-through GPUs to virtual machines, and storage cards to connect QNAP expansion enclosures. The HDMI output allows users to directly display multimedia or VM content that is stored or running on the TVS-hx74.
The QuTS hero operating system, based on ZFS, is used . Designed with data integrity in mind, it features a self-healing system and supports WORM technology to create uneditable files and protect them against ransomware. It also supports block-level inline data compression and deduplication to ensure optimal storage utilization, faster data transfer, and a longer SSD lifespan. It supports up to 65.536 snapshots to record all data and system state changes.
The included QNAP App Center also offers various apps that can be installed on demand to further expand the app potential of the TVS-hx74.
