Nikola sues Tesla for copying part of his hydrogen truck design

The hydrogen-powered truck company Nikola has sued the electric vehicle company, Tesla, for allegedly copying part of the design of its hydrogen truck.

Nikola sues Tesla. Yes, it is not a joke or anything similar. The lawsuit for patent infringements are present in the technology industry and now it adds to the one that has just fallen to Tesla, who has received a lawsuit from his namesake Nikola. Specifically, this firm is seeking a claim of 2.000 million dollars for alleged damages, because they would have copied the design of one of its vehicles, specifically that of the truck developed by Nikola.

Thus, the Nikola Motor company, known for developing hydrogen-based trucks, which has filed a lawsuit against Tesla, because they have allegedly copied some parts of the design of one of its trucks, the Nikola One and have extrapolated it in the Tesla Semi. The lawsuit filed by Nikola, highlights that the American firm would have copied several parts of the hydrogen truck, among others, the doors and the aerodynamic design of the body, as well as the design of the windshield and later placed in its first truck.

Tesla has spoken with the medium The Verge, "this lawsuit has no basis", while since Nikola they have rejected making statements and have only said that "the lawsuit speaks for itself." It should be noted that Nikola Motor was founded in 2014 and it was not until 2016, when they launched the Nikola One, the first truck based on hydrogen propulsion.

Nikola, on the other hand, highlights that before the presentation of the Tesla Semi they were sent a letter, stating that they should delay the launch, with the intention of solving different doubts regarding a possible patent infringement, something that Tesla obvious. The designs have certain similarities, but at the end of the day, if we put ourselves like this, the trucking and motor vehicle industry would be in demand all day, because they all have similar or similar characteristics, such as windshields and windows. .
