Apple sells an official cleaning cloth for $ 19

Yesterday was a new Apple event where they announced a new series of MacBook Pro alongside the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. It was an event in which a few novelties were shown and what would be its new power standard for laptops, but that was not all because shortly after the end of the event minor accessories were revealed such as the official Apple cleaning cloth that has been given what to talk about.

The official Apple cleaning cloth you see above, named “Polishing Cloth,” has surfaced on Apple’s official online store. Being from Apple, it was to be expected that it would come with a slight premium, but no one could have expected that the price of an official cloth for cleaning iPhone, iPad, and MacBook screens would reach twenty dollars.

Apple has released the official cleaning cloth for its products

On the product page, you can read in the description that “Made of soft, non-abrasive material, the polishing cloth cleans any Apple screen, including nano-texture glass, safely and effectively«. It is true that in order to clean the screens of devices it is important to use a suitable cloth and material that cannot damage the glass, but it is possible to clean them with some isopropyl alcohol for cleaning screens, a microfiber cloth dedicated to cleaning only the dust from the screen, or a cloth such as cleaning glasses, which are already designed not to scratch lenses.

The fact that Apple wants to sell a dedicated cleaning cloth for twenty dollars has even made users of the subreddit dedicated to Apple make jokes about its price, or even comment that they already gave away cleaning cloths for free before. An example that perhaps Apple fans do not blindly buy everything the company sells, much less at such a high price.

But quite possibly this ends up being one more internal joke and a very minority product. Most likely, only a few units will end up being sold, and in the best case it would be in the Apple Stores when a user purchases a new device and needs a cleaning cloth.
