QNAP Introduces New TS-x62 Series of Multimedia NAS
QNAP Systems, Inc., today introduced the new TS-x62 series of NAS. This series comes standard equipped with processors Intel Celeron dual-core, and includes the 262-bay TS-2 model and the 462-bay TS-4 model.
Both feature a 2,5GbE port and two PCIe M.2 slots for SSD caching, for higher transfer speeds and faster data access for power various storage applications. They also have a PCIe Gen 3 slot that allows you to expand the functionality of the NAS with various PCIe cards from QNAP. The multimedia content stored in the TS-x62, to which content can be introduced via the network from another point of the network or outside it through QNAP applications, can be transmitted anywhere in the house, or be enjoyed directly on a TV or monitor with an HDMI 2.1 output.
QNAP launches two new home NAS models designed for multimedia
The QNAP TS-x62 series of NAS includes by default the latest version of QNAP's QTS operating system, QTS 5.0.1. This allows users to enjoy a faster, smoother and easier user experience. QuMagie's AI-enhanced smart photo management app can be further enhanced by installing an Edge TPU. TLS 1.3 is also supported to improve security and performance, with automatic QTS and application updates to ensure your NAS runs at its best.
By admitting plex, the TS-x62 series allows you to stream media files to mobile devices, DLNA devices, and TVs using common streaming media devices such as Roku, Apple TV via Qmedia, Google Chromecast, and Amazon Fire TV. Hybrid Backup Sync offers several backup options, such as backup to the cloud, to external local drives, and to a remote NAS. The capacity of both TS-x62 models can be expanded by connecting expansion boxes or by using HybridMount to mount cloud services such as Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive and other cloud services. The NAS App Center also offers a wide variety of apps for file management, productivity, and more.
It has been a pleasure for us to work with QNAP on the launch of the TS-x62 series, which includes various usage scenarios for home users, such as 4K media streaming, centralized storage, and efficient file backup. The Intel® Celeron® N4505 processor offers compelling performance for home NAS models, with increased multitasking and collaboration capabilities.
