The TerraMaster brand, specialized in storage products for homes and businesses, has launched a new U8-450 NAS model. This model is an 8-bay shallow rackmount model with dual high-speed 10GbE SFP+ ports and dual 45GbE RJ2,5 ports that provide up to 20Gb transmission bandwidth via Link Aggregation.
The Terramaster U8-450 supports up to a 176TB storage configuration. It adopts a 2U rack-mountable enclosure with a depth of only 384 mm (15,1 inches) and a total weight of only 6,9 kg.
Terramaster launches a new NAS model for 4K video editing
The TerraMaster U8-450 NAS has been developed to solve the problems of users who require high-speed storage with the connectivity capabilities to meet the demands of 4K video editing, virtualization, databases and other applications with requirements for high storage performance. Its shallow design makes it easy to install in small media closets, for those organizations or home offices that don't have a lot of physical space.
This model features a 3558 GHz quad-core Atom C2,4R CPU, 8 GB of DDR4 RAM expandable up to 32 GB, two 10 Gb SFP+ Ethernet ports, and two 45 GbE RJ2,5 ports, providing bandwidth transmission band of up to 20 Gb through Link Aggregation. Both built-in M.2 2280 NVMe SSD slots support SSD cache acceleration, which significantly improves storage efficiency.
Supports 10Gb network connectivity, so multiple Windows/Mac workstations can connect simultaneously. This enables users seamless collaborative editing of multi-track 4K media, special effects production, video synthesis, and clip import/export using various video editing software.
The U8-450 adopts a 2U rack mount case with a depth of only 384mm and a weight of just 6,9kg. Its installation is presented as simple and without the need for rails, so it is applicable to most 2-post cabinets and small wall-mounted cabinets. With a small size, it can be used in a machine room, warehouse, stairway, office and other places.
