QNAP has unveiled its new NAS model, the TS-855X, which offers hybrid storage with bays for six 3,5" hard drives and two 2,5" SSDs. Powered by an 8-core Intel Atom C5125 processor clocked at 2,8 GHz with Intel QAT and SR-IOV, this model supports configurations of up to 128 GB of DDR4 memory . It also includes 10GbE/2,5GbE network ports.
Storage capacity is flexibly expandable, and 25GbE network ports can be added by installing a compatible PCIe card. QNAP's comprehensive enterprise cybersecurity, virtualization, and backup applications enable small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to achieve high-performance, high-speed, and highly scalable virtualization and storage environments, all with minimal total cost of ownership (TCO).

The QNAP TS-855X features four DDR4 UDIMM slots, with 8GB pre-installed. With eight slots, it can be upgraded to 128GB to enable greater multitasking capabilities and higher workloads if needed. Supports error-correcting code memory to deliver server-class performance and reliability for mission-critical enterprise IT environments.
Its 10GbE connectivity includes one 2,5GbE port and two 2,5GbE RJ45 ports (25G/1G), which can be expanded and combined to support multi-channel SMB for transmission speeds up to 5Gbps. Two integrated NVMe PCIe M.2 slots enable compatibility with SSD caching or Qtier-based storage organization using QTS to enhance performance. Two PCIe Gen 3 x4 slots allow for the installation of 10GbE/25GbE network cards and offer SR-IOV for improved I/O performance.
Its VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V certifications enable virtualized storage. This allows for massive storage capacities to be achieved by connecting QNAP JBOD expansion units to meet archiving and long-term storage requirements with an optimal ROI.
The TS-855X offers an all-in-one backup and restore solution that supports a wide range of cloud-based services for easy hybrid cloud deployment. This allows for regular snapshots to protect the NAS against ransomware attacks and the creation of virtual private networks (VPNs) to ensure remote access. Virtual machines can also be hosted using Virtualization Station, as well as Docker , LXD, and Kata containers.
