Wordle, the daily pastime that everyone plays, will have its board game
This year, the worlde has dominated the Facebook and Twitter feeds of millions of people in their quest to guess a single five-letter word each day. Almost like the Mastermind, but limiting participation to one attempt a day, and becoming a daily routine. The success of Wordle cannot be calculated, or at least in a million dollars for its creator after its sale to The New York Times, which is the one who manages the rights and for this reason it will become a board game.
The hit online puzzle game Wordle is going to be turned into a multiplayer board game, in what the most experienced would call a “Party”. This is a game that is more thought out for quick fun, without complications and without having to explain very complicated rules. Since they are easy to bring out at parties and social gatherings, they are called "party" although sometimes it is used as a derogatory term by more experienced players to criticize that a game is easy and short.
The web hit Worlde as a board game, in case you needed more Wordle in your life
The New York Times, which purchased Wordle earlier this year, has partnered with Hasbro to bring the daily pastime Wordle from the digital world to the physical one. It will arrive in the form of “Wordle: The Party Game” later this year.
While in Wordle you play alone throughout the day to solve a specific word, in the board game it will become a simultaneous group activity. From what has been seen in the video, it will consist of a player thinking of a five-letter word that other players have to try to guess first. Once people have guessed, the word thinker will place translucent yellow and green tiles on the correct letters. The riddles are done with dry erase markers on small dry erase boards, so once the round is over you can wipe the boards clean and play again.
It seems like an easy game to make in a bootleg way, which in the end derives a lot from the classic Master Mind. But here the intention is to use the brand and graphics to make an official game. To certify this that it is easy to do, we have checked in the Tabletop Simulator Workshop, and yes, there is a mod to introduce Wordle as a board game in Tabletop Simulator, long before the official announcement.
