Overwatch 2 won't be out for at least a year
Blizzard already imagines that it will show Overwatch 2 at the next Blizzcon. You don't even know what date it will be out.
One of the most prominent announcements of the past Blizzcon was that of Overwatch 2. A kind of sequel, or patch or expansion, which will bring numerous new features to the base game such as PvE and cooperative story missions.
Overwatch 2 doesn't expect to be out anytime soon
Although it seems that Overwatch 2 is ready to come out soon, let's say that between now and summer, in reality Blizzard have no idea when they are going to release it on the market. What's more, we may see news of the game ahead of its launch at Blizzcon 2020.
That's what Jeff Kaplan, director of the game, has said, who anticipates that it will be at next year's Blizzcon when they can give a date for that Overwatch 2. For practical purposes, they do not expect to have the game ready for release for at least a whole year. But they say the vanilla version of Overwatch is likely to get new content to try to keep the game and its community active.
The game is announced for PC, and it will also be released on all consoles on the market: Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Since PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett also come out next year shortly after Blizzcon 2020, we can almost ensure that Overwatch 2 will also be released on new generation consoles taking advantage of its qualities, but they cannot announce it as such due to demands from Sony and Microsoft that ask that they do not explicitly confirm games for their consoles until they have been shown to the public although we already know that Ubisoft is bringing games like Gods and Monsters, Rainbow Six Quarantine and Watch Dogs Legion to them.
