The strategy is to save this processor, which will be the top of the range of the Ryzen 12nm company, which will have eight cores and sixteen threads, for when Intel launches its eight-core processor. Right now the top of the range is the Ryzen 7 2700X. This strategy can be very risky, as despite offering a good performance / price ratio, AMD processors have trouble matching Intel's six-core processors.
