Elgato presents the 2020K4 S + external capture device at CES 60
The hubbub of CES 2020 in Las Vegas begins, where brands show all the novelties they will launch throughout the year. It's time to see what Elgato Gaming brings us, the company specialized in capturing content and streaming. Elgato 4K60 S + has just announced, a high-quality external capture device with features for recording content and streaming games.
As our readers know, it was announced over a year ago that Elgato Gaming had been acquired by Corsair . While Corsair now owns the company, they continue to operate along parallel lines. Elgato Gaming continues to function freely and independently, developing high-performance solutions for professional streamers and those just starting out in the industry.

The new external solution they have developed has the ability to record 4K HDR at a rate of 60FPS, either from PC, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. It has the ability to record directly to an SD card or connect to a computer via USB 3.0 . Through this second system we can do live streaming or store the game on a hard drive.
It's worth noting that this isn't the first capture card capable of capturing 4K content at 60FPS. Those wanting the aforementioned resolution and framerate had to purchase the internal 4K60 Pro capture card. This requires a computer and plugs directly into a PCIe slot.
The good thing about an external capturer is that it does not require a powerful computer and they are simpler to configure. We only have to connect the HDMI and USB, the latter being optional.
Perhaps one of the most interesting elements is that we can record directly to an SD card or to an external hard drive. That it allows us to stream live is another great novelty. A function that we can do through Elgato's Flashback Recording software, allowing us to go back in time and retroactively record the game. We also have Live Commentary, which allows you to record the microphone's audio independently.
This Elgato Gaming beauty costs a whopping $ 399.99, making it not for all budgets.
