According to the Chinese media outlet MyDrivers, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will be unveiled in mid to late August. In addition to the aforementioned competitors, it will face the Huawei MatePad 11, which has similar specifications.
The leak also mentions that there will be several models in the Mi Pad 5 family, with the top variant powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset, which would make it one of the most powerful Android tablets currently available. The display could be the star of the series, as it is expected to have an 11-inch LCD panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 480Hz touch sample rate. Xiaomi is expected to approach it as a gaming device, as a way to play mobile games on a big screen. It is also expected to come with a stylus included.
An interesting part of the report is that the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will run a special version of MIUI for large screen devices such as tablets. It will include desktop-like items such as a control center, taskbar, floating windows, and more.
