Razer announces new Viper 8K mouse with HyperPolling technology

The new Razer Viper 8K mouse features new HyperPolling technology that offers a polling rate of up to 8.000Hz

Innovating in the gaming peripherals market can be relatively difficult. Razer has once again innovated in the gaming peripherals market. In this case, Razer presents the Viper 8K mouse, which makes use of the patented Razer HyperPolling technology. This technology offers a real 8.000Hz polling rate, well above the usual polling rate for mice, which is 1.000Hz (maximum).

Razer Introduces New Viper 8K With New HyperPolling Technology

Typically the polling rate for gaming mice is up to 1.000Hz. Manufacturers often focus on improving the precision and sensitivity of mice. What is normally not taken into consideration is the transmission speed of the click and position data sent to the system. Razer with this 8.000Hz polling rate offered by its HyperPolling technology seeks to offer a notable performance improvement and thus eliminate micro-flickering.

Latency is a very important part of the game that significantly affects the overall gaming experience, yet many companies ignored them to focus for too long on increasing the limits of DPIs. And unlike DPIs, lower latency benefits everyone from casual to professional gamers, saving significant milliseconds from overall reaction time. During our testing and development process with a wide group of competitive gamers and mouse enthusiasts, many commented on us having a significantly smoother and more responsive gaming experience using the HyperPolling technology that is included in the new Viper esports mouse. 8K

What is the Razer HyperPolling and what is it for

The Polling Rate is the number of times per second that the mouse sends information to the PC. Gaming mice usually offer a Polling Rate of 500Hz or 1.000Hz, at most. Razer's HyperPolling is a technology that delivers 8 times the amount of data transmissions to the system.

HyperPolling makes use of a high speed USB controller capable of delivering 8.000Hz polling rate. The Viper 8K mouse, the first to use this technology, offers 8 times more information per second. Effectively the data input delay goes from 1ms to 1/8 of a millisecond.

In addition, Razer HyperPolling allows more data refresh to get a better match with the monitor refresh rate. Therefore, a much shorter delay between the last data entry and the representation of the frame is obtained than with a rate of 1.000Hz. This results in a smoother and more precise cursor position.

The higher the poll rates, the less the delay from entry. This minimizes micro-flickering and sudden cursor position jumps, thus obtaining smooth and precise movement of the mouse cursor.

This Razer HyperPolling technology provides faster click latency, but also keeps click-to-click variance to an absolute minimum.

This technology is perfect for games that require high precision and responsiveness like CS: GO.

Other improvements to the Razer Viper 8K

In addition to Razer HyperPolling technology, this Viper 8K mouse implements other important enhancements. The first one is that it makes use of 2nd Generation Razer Mouse switches. Additionally, the new Razer Focus + optical sensor has been added.

Razer 2nd Gen Optical Switches feature increased tactile feedback, enhancing the feel of every click, and sound more satisfying. Lag over conventional mechanical switches is eliminated, a perfect complement to HyperPolling. Additionally, these switches have a life cycle of more than 70 million clicks.

We also have the Razer Focus + sensor. This sensor leads the industry with 99.6% resolution, offering smoother movements with consistent tracking. Thanks to this sensor and HyperPolling, gamers feel seamless, seamless cursor tracking.

The Razer Synapse 3 software allows users to modify the functions of the 8 programmable buttons available on the Razer Viper 8K. It also allows you to assign macros or secondary functions, as well as to store all the profiles in the memory integrated in the mouse.

Note that this mouse has a solid and ambidextrous design, with a total weight of only 71 grams. The Razer Viper 8K features 100% PTFE pads for a smooth glide. The cable makes use of the Razer SpeedFlex system that ensures minimal drag in fast movements.

Razer Viper 8K is now available at a price of 89.99 euros at the Razer website and authorized stores.
