Seagate Introduces FireCuda Gaming SSD and BarraCuda Fast SSD at CES 2020

CES 2020 is the first event of the year and helps brands showcase their best products. Seagate has presented at the event a new family of external SSD drives developed for the gaming market. We are talking about the FireCuda Gaming SSD and BarraCuda Fast SSD units in a capacity of up to 2TB.
Seagate specializes in storage drives, but is struggling to jump to the SSD format. The company is still adapting to new times, putting aside the market of mechanical hard drives. During the event, it showed its first external drives based on SSDs for the gaming market.
FireCuda Gaming SSD with USB Type-C and RGB
The first family of SSD drives comes in two formats, one 2.5-inch pocket and the other much larger. These two systems have a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 interface and make use of FireCuda NVMe 510 technology. These units offer us theoretical speeds of up to 2000MB / s via USB port.
They have been expressly developed to offer excellent gaming performance. Seagate offers us high-performance drives designed to install games externally. It will arrive in capacities of 500GB, 1TB and 2TB with a two-part aluminum housing that implements RGB lighting in a kind of grid.

BarraCuda Fast SSD with very compact form factor
These BarraCuda Fast SSD drives they are even more compact than FireCuda units. It comes in capacities of 500GB, 1TB and 2TB based on a SATA controller with a theoretical speed of up to 540MB / s in reading and writing. Such drives, according to Seagate, have been developed for users who want to play games without the need for a dedicated SSD.
