Creative launches its Sound Blaster X1 sound card to take a big leap in quality
Creative Technology today launched the Sound Blaster X1, a USB DAC and headphone amp featuring Sound Blaster's Acoustic Engine technology and Super X-Fi holographic headphone technology. Despite having a fairly small size, it offers immersive, high-resolution multichannel audio with faithful reproductions down to the last detail.
It comes powered by a 32dB 128-bit DAC and Ti/Burr-Brown INA1620 dual audio amplifier. By connecting the Sound Blaster X1 to a PC and using the Creative desktop application, we will have access to the Sound Blaster Acoustic Engine. With this we will be able to explore and configure all the Creative audio processing technologies and enhance listening experience both at work and at play.

With its surround virtualization technology Sound Blaster Surround Virtualization, we can enjoy a great range and depth of audio watching movies, music and playing games. Its CrystalVoice technology also has a series of intelligent adjustments to improve the quality of video calls features like SmartVolume to adjust the volume; and Acoustic Echo Cancellation to prevent echo in certain rooms. Your SmartComms Kit will also help effectively reduce background noise and automatically mute the microphone when not speaking.
Other professionally pre-configured technologies and settings are more geared towards gamers. Scout Mode detects the subtlest audio cues and amplifies them so players can detect enemy gunshots and footsteps, a fit that is greatly accentuated in helmets dedicated to gaming.
There's also Super X-Fi, Creative's holographic headphone technology that redefines the headphone experience by recreating the soundstage of a speaker system. It allows you to enjoy a more complete audio experience closer to that of a home theater. Its ear mapping available through the SXFI app allows users to enjoy natural hearing immersion in their movies and games, as the sound adapts to each user's ears in a unique way.
