Synology Announces New NAS Diskstation DS720 + and DS420 +

Synology Inc. has announced the launch of its new Diskstation DS720 +, with two expandable bays, and DS420 +, with four bays. The new devices are designed to facilitate file sharing, speed up video streaming, and provide easy photo management for both home and business.

"The devices in the new Plus series are designed to offer many features with excellent performance," describes Hewitt Lee, director of Synology Product Management Group. “Both the DS720 + and the DS420 + include two M.2 NVMe slots for cache that boost read / write performance and IOPS for commonly used data. The upgraded CPUs also provide an overall performance improvement in computing intensive situations. "

Easy workload management

Synology's new Plus series boasts up to 143% faster responsiveness in apps and a performance improvement of over 15% on computer-intensive tasks, allowing you to work faster and more efficiently. When using the two M.2 slots for cache it is possible to improve read and write access by 20.

Simplified backups 

Synology's backup solutions are easily configured and work efficiently in the background, thus freeing up the time required by manual backup processes. File recovery is simplified by the scheduling capabilities, multiple versions, and flexible storage rotation offered by Synology NAS.

Anytime, anywhere file sharing

The Plus series lets you effortlessly sync media files across a wide variety of digital devices and operating systems, making it easy to stream videos to friends or family, as well as HD editing. Likewise, it is possible to configure the accesses for selected users or for the whole public.

Availability

Both devices are available from June 18 through Synology's partner and partner network and will come with a 5-year warranty available with the EW201 option package.
