They create the standard for televisions with 8K resolution

The 8K Ultra HD standard has been published for televisions with panels that support this resolution, which will take effect next year.

It has been some time since people started talking about televisions with 8K resolution. These televisions are coming at totally prohibitive prices for most users. It will take at least a couple of years for them to become standard within the industry, which will be when we start to see 'logical' prices. Currently it is not that there is content under this resolution.

What will be the resolution of the future will begin to have content in the coming years. Meanwhile they are quite an expensive and meaningless fad. We must emphasize that the first televisions with these new technologies always have problems. It is better to wait until the technology is settled and there is content.

Create the standard for 8K televisions

The Consumer Technology Association consortium has unveiled what an 8K television should look like. The first of the elements, of course, must be a resolution of 7680 × 4320 pixels. Basically this is a resolution 4 times bigger than the current 4K standard.

It has been established that all panels must support 24, 30 and 60 images per second. Logically, the panels will be able to support a greater amount of images per second, this is only the minimum. Additionally, these televisions will need to have 10-bit color panels and will also need to support HDR, along with HDCP 2.2.

Even if someone buys a current monitor without the sticker that certifies the 8K, rest assured, because the televisions on the market under this resolution already comply. This standard is a formality and will be certified as of January 1, 2020. Like current 4K televisions, it will carry a sticker that certifies the resolution, unless it indicates 8K.

For the rest, there is not much more to tell. Surely we will not start to see them at affordable prices for at least two years. We will then worry about this new resolution.
