Unofficial printer ink found to work just as well as official ink

Having a printer at home is more of a convenience to avoid having to go regularly to a copy shop. It is well known that the printer does not cost much but the official ink does to ensure its quality. But the reality is that unofficial printer ink works just as well as the manufacturer's according to a recent study.

A new survey has revealed a huge discrepancy between the price of the manufacturer's official printer ink and that of third-party manufacturers, even though there is hardly any difference in print quality. For years it has been said that it produces lower quality or harmful prints, but a survey of more than XNUMX users revealed that it does not.

No products found.

Despite everything, we continue to buy official printer ink for not wanting to damage it

The organization found that more than half of people still use ink purchased directly from the manufacturer. They keep doing it even though it can be up to 286% more expensive, rather than risk trying one that doesn't have the manufacturer's stamp on it. The official printer ink for an Expression Premium XP-900 costs more than two dollars per milliliter, which makes it more expensive than a luxury brand perfume.

According to the survey of the Which? Portal, the unofficial ink offers prints of almost the same quality as the official one. And it does so at a cost of a fifth of the price. We already saw it with an experiment we did in Hardwaresfera with a printer that we put refillable ink cartridges. The quality hardly suffered and the printer simply had to be kept clean as with other cartridges.

However, this is not possible with HP printers that automatically lock non-brand cartridges thanks to a smart lock. This could be extended to other makes and models through an update, so your printer may only accept official cartridges after a while.
