Trust, committed to the environment and sustainability, and awarded with it
The Ecovadis classification evaluates companies from all sectors in different specific areas. These are the environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable contracting, among others. Its purpose is to analyze whether the desired sustainable objectives are met, records that the Trust has notably met by achieving the silver medal.
This award is a reward for the improvements we have made. Our score reflects that we are among the 25% of companies in our sector already evaluated by EcoVadis with the highest score in sustainability. On the one hand, we are happy to be one of the sustainable leaders in the industry. But on the other hand, there is still a lot of work to be done in the industry. We want to inspire other companies and we will be happy to talk to partners that are part of our value chain.
Allard Boer, CFO of the Trust
Trust integrated environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into its business strategy two and a half years ago. Since then, with each new product they develop, they examine the different areas where they can make a difference in this regard.
We are committed to continuously reducing our ecological footprint and strive to achieve circularity in the process, as well as fair working conditions in our supply chain. Accordingly, we work closely with companies such as EcoVadis to integrate ESG principles into our operations, as well as to develop fair digital accessories. Fair to people, fair to the planet and at a fair price.»
Dorothee de Backer, Product Manager at Trust.
Trust states that it has made significant strides in sustainable packaging. They have opted for environmentally friendly materials and reduced packaging size to lower carbon emissions during transport. One example of their plastic-free packaging is the new Yvi+ mouse, whose packaging is 100% plastic-free . They will use the EcoVadis assessment as a benchmark to identify areas for improvement in the future.
We want to offer consumers an affordable green alternative. We want to become more sustainable while keeping the price down, which we believe requires smart thinking, perseverance and cooperation with all partners in the value chain.
Martijn Lutgerink, CCO of the Trust.
The brand has been aiming to be a driver of sustainability in its sector for years. That is why they are dedicated to the manufacture of increasingly sustainable products. Measures such as the use of certified post-consumer recycled plastic and FSC-certified wood fibers, even rechargeable batteries and reducing the size of packaging are part of its program to be more sustainable with its products. Since 2020 they have had the Clevergreen line, which began its path to sustainability and catalogs its most sustainable products. Thanks to this, in 2020 alone, the use of plastic was reduced by 16% by reducing the size of headphone boxes.
