Pimax UHD VR, inexpensive alternative to other VR glasses

The Pimax UHD VR PC Headset are postulated as an interesting alternative in the VR glasses market.

Virtual reality glasses are currently not available for all budgets and for all equipment, an advanced, high-cost configuration is needed to be able to move one of these glasses smoothly. We have the Oculus or HTC VRs that are around € 800-900, something impossible for average users, who also have to invest around € 1000-1500 in a good equipment so that they work smoothly. Today we bring a cheaper alternative, such as the Pimax UHD VR PC Headset.

These new glasses are priced at €339, making them a clear alternative to other options on the market, as they are much more affordable. The Pimax glasses are characterized by their FullHD image quality, but they can also handle games and movies in 4K UHD with a resolution of 3840x2160p and 806ppi. Harmful light is known to be a problem in these cases, as it is damaging to the eyes, so this device includes an automatic light adjustment system and a system to prevent fogging.

One of the drawbacks that are being reported about virtual reality glasses, even on PlayStation VR, is the dizziness they cause. Pimax tries to solve this problem, a double 1000Hz gyroscope has been integrated into the housing, to try to reduce the feeling of dizziness with efficiency.

To improve viewing, Pimax has a 110º FOV double system, 53mm spherical double lens. The lenses have an adaptability of 58-71mm distance from the pupil and also has an improved viewing system for those who suffer from myopia, which is great news for users who have this eye problem.

Regarding the audio, the Pimax have a good sound system, since a special design for headphones has been thought of through a 3.5mm connector that can be removed, a 40mm diaphragm and also has a virtual 5.1 audio track with sound stereo acoustic.

VR Pimax helmets are also compatible with titles that are compatible with Steam VR and Oculus Rift, in addition to having its own Store called PiPlay. Finally, note that these helmets can be used on computers with Windows 7 and regarding hardware, an Intel i5 processor and an NVIDIA GTX 960 or an AMD RX 290 / R9 graphics card should be more than enough for it to work.
