We can get the straw hat from One Piece in Pokémon Go. Pikachu will carry it and we can carry it on our avatar.
Pokémon Go is used to making collaborations to celebrate special events, since it was his turn to dress for the occasion for the premiere of the Detective Pikachu movie. Now the collaboration comes from outside the world of Pokémon and it is with nothing more and nothing less than the giant of manga and anime One Piece.
The straw hat from One Piece invades Pokémon GO
From July 22 to July 29 it will be possible to get Pikachus in Pokémon Go that wear the famous straw hat worn by the protagonist of One Piece, Monkey D. Luffy. As with other Pikachus with special hats, if we evolve them to Raichu they will keep the hat, and we will not be able to transfer them in a block to turn it into candy. We will have to transfer it one by one as a security method. We advise that they will not have any movement or special feature beyond the straw hat for now.
We can also get said straw hat for our avatar. Although they have not confirmed whether it will be a free gift or will have to be paid using Pokémoedas that we will get by buying with real money or defending gyms.
Lastly, they will make all One Piece statues in Kumamoto prefecture in Japan PokéStops in Pokémon Go. Kumamoto is the native prefecture of mangaka Eichiro Oda, to which he donated more than eight million dollars after the 2016 earthquake. For now there is only the well-known statue of Luffy, but the rest of the members of The Straw Hat Pirates ( Nami, Roronoa Zoro, Sanji, Tony Tony Chopper, Franky, Brook, Nico Robin and Ussop) will have their statues in different parts of Kumamoto for next year to promote tourism in the region.
