After pushing back the movie to next year, they've shown the Sonic redesign. It looks much more faithful to the original design.
A Sonic the Hedgehog movie? Good idea, it can be adapted to the adventure and comedy genre, and it could come into our Top 10 movies based on video games. But when they showed the official trailer months ago, something was wrong: Sonic's design was moving away from the adorable and cool; because it entered the field of the haunting valley.
The delay has been worth it
Paramount Pictures decided to listen to fans who were afraid of Sonic's design in the film and change it. Not without first delaying it because changing the modeling of a character in a hybrid action movie requires more than just replacing the files; and because they didn't want to exploit the animators by imposing a crunch period on them. In fact, the movie was supposed to come out last weekend.
Now the Sonic movie is scheduled to come out on February 14 next year in the United States, with possibly a very similar release date in Spain. After months of silence from Paramount, they have shown a new trailer for the Sonic movie.

As we can see, the blue hedgehog has changed to a design that is much more reminiscent of the original games, before they made the jump to the Dreamcast. We also noticed that in the absence of seeing the final footage, they have tried to make Sonic a little funnier instead of trying to make him look cool and cool. We noticed that some scenes have changed, or so it looks like with that new trailer. It is comforting to know that they really want to make a movie for the fans without it being simply a way to get easy money, and thus take the opportunity to publicize the hedgehog among the public that goes to the cinema on a regular basis.
