AMD Ryzen 7 4700U can be seen in a benchmark destroying the Intel Core i7-1065G7

During CES 2020, AMD introduced us to its new processors for notebook computers. The company has developed a simpler solution with reduced consumption, how is the Ryzen 7 4800U and a version for gaming, such as the Ryzen 7 4800H. They are not the only laptop processors the company will launch based on Zen2 @ 7nm. The Ryzen 7 4700U benchmark has been leaked.

Today we learned that AMD is increasing the market share of notebooks in Japan at full speed. In less than a year they have gone from a 1.2% share to practically 25% market share. As is logical, the improvement in the market is driven by the price, much lower than those of Intel.

First benchmark of the AMD Ryzen 7 4700U

Thanks to TechPowerUp we have a first reference regarding these processors that should arrive shortly in laptops. We can through Geekbench the performance of these new processors. Note that the laptop is from Lenovo.

The Ryzen 7 4700U processor has 8 cores and 16 processing threads. This processor works at a base frequency of 2.0GHz and in Boost mode it reaches 4.2GHz with a TDP of 15W. This single-core processor offers us 4.910 points and 21.693 points in multicore.

AMD Ryzen 7 4700U Benchmark

This AMD processor is compared to the Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor. The Intel processor would offer about 4.400 points and in multicore it falls far behind, at about 17.000 points.

We see how the Ryzen processors, in this married Zen2 @ 7nm, are superior to the Intel processors. In addition, consumption has been greatly improved, since the previous solutions were not the most efficient on the market. And of course, laptops are much cheaper, so in addition to having more performance, we can save some money.
