Athlon Gold 3150U leaked on Geekbench 4 under a still-unannounced HP laptop

First benchmark of the AMD Athlon Gold 3150U APU, which appears leaked thanks to an HP laptop that has been seen in Geekbench 4.

A new processor developed by AMD for laptops has been leaked. The company would have created the Athlon Gold 3150U APU for inexpensive laptops that offer long range. This processor appears to be simply a refined version of the Athlon 300U processor. A fairly simple solution that has been implemented on an HP laptop.

This Athlon Gold 3150U processor belongs to the Raven Ridge family. The cores are based on the Zen @ 14nm architecture and feature two cores and four threads. These cores work at a frequency of 2.4GHz and will arrive in Boost mode at 3.28GHz. Supports Dual-Channel configurations with up to 64GB DDR4 @ 2400MHz.

As we said, this processor has been seen in the HP Laptop 17-ca2xxx, which has been seen in Geekbench 4. This processor has been chosen for offering a very tight consumption and for its integrated graphics solution. The APU is accompanied by a simple Radeon Vega 3 that integrates 192 Stream Processors operating at a frequency of 1.0GHz.

Regarding performance, this Athlon Gold 3150U processor would have a performance about 3% higher in single core than the Athlon 300U. In multicore it offers a greater performance improvement, being a little more than 7% than the Athlon 300U.

We see how little by little notebooks with more AMD solutions are being launched. They benefit from Intel not being able to keep up with demand. Many laptop builders are tired of the situation and turn to AMD solutions. The company's portfolio of APUs and other laptop solutions is growing and appears to be showing interest. You just have to see that the new Apple MacBook Pro integrates Radeon Pro 5300M and Radeon Pro 5500M graphics.
