Eurocom presents a laptop with a Core i9-9900K, two NVIDIA RTX 2080 and up to 28TB of storage

We can find all kinds of laptops on the market, depending on what we are going to do with it and according to our budget. Occasionally we see some laptops that are nothing more than desktop computers compacted to unsuspected limits. Eurocom in this case has exceeded any forecast with an unconventional 'laptop'. It has an Intel desktop processor with its LGA1151 socket, two NVIDIA graphics cards and up to 28TB NAND Flash.

Perhaps the definition of 'laptop' has gotten out of hand, since in some cases a barebone would be even more comfortable. ASUS has in the past introduced a liquid-cooled laptop and with which they gave you a rolling suitcase to transport it.

Eurocom's no laptop

The first thing to note is that its dimensions are reminiscent of early laptops. Let's start with the processor, a rather interesting feature. This laptop has an LGA1151 socket that allows for the installation of up to a Core i9-9900K . Yes, it's not the typical laptop processor soldered onto the PCB; it's a socketed, interchangeable processor.

If integrating a Core i9-9900K seems like an aberration, the thing goes further with the graphics card. This laptop supports up to two NVIDIA RTX 2080 graphics cards in a compact form factor. Although the PCB for these graphics has been redesigned, they are the same models as the tabletop models, no frequency cuts or anything.

To complement the 8-core and 16-thread processor, this laptop can support up to 128GB DDR4-2666. Although not listed, they appear to be SO-DIMMs, not full profile DIMMs.

We've saved the aberration for last and it's not a joke. This laptop has three M.2-2280 slots for SSD drives and two 2.5-inch bays for SSD or HDD drives. Customers can order three 4TB Sabrent Rocket SSDs under PCIe 3.0 x4 and two Micron 5100 SSDs of 8TB each. This adds up to a whopping 28TB, which costs over $ 10.000 without RAID setup and configuration.

This whole Eurocom hulk may come with a 4-inch 17.3K panel and other high-end components. Although it has not been given weight, from the photos it does not look light and take up little space. Regarding its price, the most beast model will be around $ 20.000, with all premium components. Yes, they have freaked out.
