Guide to Buying Chinese Laptops

Laptops have evolved a lot in recent years, finding light solutions on the market, with great autonomy and good performance. This responds to the demand of users, who want good quality solutions, light and with a battery life. Within the market there are many options, but here we are going to offer you one comparison of chinese laptops, or rather, what these laptops offer us. We must bear in mind that these laptops are focused on students or people who travel a lot for work, no gaming or heavy tasks.

Low Power Processors

These laptops are usually based on very low-power processors. In the first place, these processors improve autonomy and secondly, they do not tend to get too hot, allowing to create very thin and light notebooks.

Intel Celeron or Atom processors are commonly used, which are the simplest solutions Intel offers. Sometimes we can find these laptops based on Qulacomm processors, normally used in smartphones.

Ideally, the processor should have 2 cores or 4 cores, which are usually the majority. Regarding the working frequency, the optimum is a minimum of 2.0GHz and possibly having a Boost frequency, in case we need an extra performance.

RAM is important

A laptop with less than 8GB of RAM currently makes little sense. Applications increasingly demand more RAM and if we are going to work or study with it, we want them to be fluid.

There are many that offer us at least 8GB of RAM, but be careful, of what type? We must always observe the type of RAM that is offered to us. The normal thing is that they come with LPDDR4X or DDR4 SODIMM, that already depends on whether the RAM is soldered to the motherboard or they are modules. We do not recommend buying laptops with DDR3 memory in its different variants.

We can find laptops with this memory, but they are not interesting at all. DDR3 has been out of the market for many years and has much lower operating frequencies than DDR4.

Have good storage capacity

Chinese laptops are mostly characterized by being very thin and light in design. This makes the installation of 2.5 ″ HDDs unfeasible. Currently these laptops are based on NAND Flash memories, or what is the same, SSD drives. Most likely, these memories are soldered directly to the motherboard.

Capacity is the key factor at this point. Some tend to have very limited storage capacity and that is a factor. We recommend at least 256GB of storage capacity. Systems with 128GB are already very fair, staying at about 100GB between the operating system and the memory reserve. Obviously, laptops with 64GB and 32GB of storage are a very bad idea.

Screen and resolution of these laptops

You don't have to overheat your head at this point. Most are based on IPS panels that are characterized by reducing light leakage. They usually have 1920 × 1080 resolutions, although they can also be viewed at 1920 × 1200 resolutions. Some even offer a touchpad, which can be interesting

Regarding dimensions, the ideal would be 14 inches, which is the 'standard' for lightweight and highly portable laptops. Some tend to move in the 10-inch and 12-inch range. It is not that they are very small screens, but for certain tasks the work area can be somewhat small.

Autonomy of these systems

One of the great advantages or great capacities is that they offer excellent autonomy. Typically laptops of this style based on Intel processors usually offer between 8-10 hours of use. In addition, more and more low-cost Chinese laptops with fast-charging technologies are being seen.

If you find one that charges via USB Type C and has fast charging, keep that in mind. Being able to charge a part of the battery in a short period of time is always positive.

What operating system do they carry

Initially these Chinese laptops used to carry Android, although the trend has changed. Now most run the Windows 10 operating system, because it is one of the most popular operating systems today.

An interesting option is dual-boot laptops, or what is the same, that have Android and Windows 10 installed. This allows us a lot of additional possibilities.

Warranty for these laptops

Those who want to buy a Chinese laptop, the best thing to do is buy it from Amazon. This solves a lot of problems for us. Above all, it offers us the security that in the event of any problem, the sales giant will help us make a return or process the guarantee.

In stores like Bangood or Aliexpress, if we search well, we can find reliable sellers, although processing guarantees and returns is more complex.

Ratings are important

If we are going to buy on Amazon, it is best to be guided by user ratings. We can see the models that exist and what the buyers of these products think. The higher the number of reviews, the better, the more reliable the seller of this product will be.

Those Chinese laptops from brands or stores without ratings, it is better not to touch them. It may be that a brand has recently launched a product, but if we go to their store and look at the rest of the products and it is well valued, we can be relatively calm.

What if you are a new player in this market? We have two options. The first is to ask Google for the manufacturer or store and see if there are reviews on other sites. The second is to buy the product and if something happens, claim the money back from Amazon. In case of attempted scam, Amazon will return the money to us and they will surely close the store of the alleged scammer.
