Intel shows laptops with OLED screen on the front, an element of dubious utility

Intel's latest big 'innovation' for laptops is adding an OLED screen on the front of the laptop that will shorten the battery of the computers.

It seems that adding unnecessary and unhelpful items to laptops is becoming fashionable. New laptops based on Intel solutions have been introduced with a touch bar that doesn't make much sense. The company has unveiled the Intel Ambient PCs, conceptual notebooks with an element of dubious utility. These laptops have on the front when they are closed, a flexible OLED screen that can show us applications and functions, even if the equipment is closed. A good way to drain your battery on unnecessary bullshit.

Intel Ambient PCs shown at Computex

As explained, a laptop contains a large amount of important information inaccessible when the lid is closed. During Computex they have shown these rather curious laptops. One of the Intel engineers in a demo showed the agenda, used Spotify and even made inquiries to Amazon's Alexa.

This OLED screen would cover even the touch panel, but for now, according to the engineer, they have not chosen to experiment at this point. They emphasize that others have already tried in the past and the thing did not work.

So that this screen does not have excessive consumption, a low consumption Atom processor has been integrated. This specific processor is only for the OLED screen, it does not do more functions within the system. The thing actually makes less and less sense in our way of seeing.

As they have explained, it seems that Intel engineers have been working on this for a year and a half. There is no data that laptop manufacturers add it to their equipment. The truth is that it is a completely absurd and unnecessary element. It is the typical nonsense that you use twice and period, like the TouchBar of the MacBook. It will be that there are no better things to innovate in.
