LG today announced its first laptop designed to play video games, the 17G90Q. LG's UltraGear line had specialized in gaming monitors and a $ 500 gaming speaker, making this the first proper laptop to join LG's gaming series.
For now, the LG 17G90Q has won the CES 2022 Innovation Award and features some of the latest and most powerful laptop components available today. LG claims that the notebook will include an 11th-generation Intel processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics card, dual-channel memory, and an ultra-fast dual-SSD configuration.
LG enters the world of laptops very strongly
The announcements regarding the notebook suggest that the LG 17G90Q could only be available with an RTX 3080, with no option to more accessible ones like RTX 2080 or 3060. For now this speculation coming from what the announcement claims.
Other features are its 1-inch, 17-millisecond-response screen with a 300 Hz refresh rate, which can display 300 frames per second in compatible titles. This would make the laptop ideal for competitive gamers who win big with a stable frame rate and extremely low latency. Another detail to keep in mind is that the screen in question is 1080p and has a 16: 9 ratio.
Nothing is known about the price yet, but the components and features suggest that it is not going to be a cheap piece. Official pricing information and other details, such as the planned launch date of the LG 17G90Q, are expected to be announced at CES 2022 during LG's conference on January 4 at 17:00 PM EDT.
