Razer announces new Blade 15 and Blade PRO 17 laptops

During CES 2021, the new models of its Blade laptops have been presented by Razer. Specifically, the Razer Blade 15 and the Razer Blade PRO 17. We are going to see what features each of these laptops have.

Razer Blade 15 High Performance Gaming Laptops

This Razer Blade 15 will arrive in two variants. What we can call the basic version is based on the Core i7-10750. This processor offers 6 cores and 12 threads at a base frequency of 2.6GHz and that will reach 5.0GHz. A processor that also has 12MB of L3 cache.

For the advanced model, the Core i7-10875 with 8 cores and 16 threads has been chosen. This processor is characterized by being able to reach 5.1GHz in a core and have 16MB of L3 cache.

Regarding graphics cards, the most powerful models will be accompanied by the RTX 3060 Mobile and RTX 3070 Mobile. Additionally, a model based on the GTX 1660 Ti will be launched.

Different types of screens according to needs

This laptop has a 15-inch screen, which will come in three different versions. The most basic for eSports will be a 1080p (FullHD) screen with a refresh rate of 360Hz and a latency of 2ms. If we want more quality, we have a 240Hz QHD screen, with a latency of 2.5ms and a color spectrum of 95% sRGB. Finally we have a 4K AMOLED screen with 1ms of refreshment, with 3% DCI-P100 coverage and with Grorilla Glass protection.

We have more possibilities. The most basic display will be FullHD with a 144Hz refresh rate, 8ms response, and a 100% sRGB color spectrum. Regarding the QHD panel, we have a simpler version with a refresh rate of 165Hz. This panel also has a latency of 3ms and a DCI-P3 coverage of 100%.

RAM and storage

This 355x17x235mm model will offer a large storage and RAM capacity. It comes standard with 32GB DDR4 that can be expanded up to 64GB. Additionally we can choose between a 2GB or 256GB M.512 NVMe SSD.

Something quite interesting is that this laptop has a second M.2 NVMe SSD slot. This is characterized by being PCIe 3.0 and allowing the installation of an additional SSD in a simple way. An easy access cover has been built in to avoid disassembling the bottom of the laptop.

Other characteristics

A keyboard with RGB lighting managed by Razer Chroma software has been arranged. How could it be otherwise, it has Anti-Ghosting technology. We have on the sides a rather large speaker system and an enlarged touchpad.

It features an HDMI 2.1 port with support for 8K resolutions. It also includes a Thunderbolt 3 port and second-generation USB-C 3.2 ports. For wireless connectivity, it offers Bluetooth 5 and Wi-Fi 6.

The Razer Blade 15 arrives with a 65Wh battery and a base price of 1.799 euros. But, it does not matter, because this laptop will not be sold in Spain.

Razer Blade PRO 17, for demanding gamers

Those looking for a more powerful solution equipped with the 7-core and 10875-thread Intel Core i8-16H. This processor is characterized by being able to reach 5.1GHz in a core and have 16MB of L3 cache.

This processor is accompanied by the RTX 3060 Mobile, RTX 3070 Mobile and RTX 3080 Mobile graphics. This will allow users a high FPS rate and enjoy RayTracing, DLSS and Resizable BAR technologies, among others.

This laptop will have either 16GB or 32GB DDR4 @ 2933MHz. We can also choose between a 512GB or 1TB NVMe SSD.

We can also choose the type of panel we want for this 17-inch laptop. A FullHD @ 360Hz panel, a 165Hz QuadHD panel and a 4K @ 120Hz panel are offered.

Pre-orders for the Razer Blade PRO 17 will begin at the end of the month in Europe, with a starting price of €2.399.
