Intel creates the third version of its Intel Evo certification for laptops

A few years ago, Intel created intel evo to certify that laptops that go on sale and use their laptop CPUs meet minimum efficiency, performance, and battery requirements. With the creation of the new Alder Lake mobile CPUs U and P series, have created what will be the third version of Intel evo.

This means that laptops that come out with this sticker will be certified to meet a minimum of even more demanding requirements. And which are they?

This is the third edition of Intel Evo for laptops

Most of the new requirements for Intel Evo devices are only improvements over the second edition. An Intel Evo laptop now has to offer more than 9 hours of battery life in the real world, it takes less than a second to wake up and charges the equivalent of 4 hours of battery in 30 minutes.

Intel Evo now guarantees constant responsiveness in 25 everyday tasks and four technologies capable of improving video conferencing. As for the technical requirements, the devices have to carry a 12th generation SoC, Intel WiFi 6E, 5G and an FHD camera or better. Must have Intel Connectivity Performance Suite, Dynamic Background Noise Suppression, and Intel Visual Sensing Controller.

Other features include the ability to take calls on the phone and answer them on the laptop, seamless file sharing between devices, and a multi-device user experience across all linked devices. Another addition to the Intel Evo spec is devices with foldable screens, which must also come with a 16-inch+ QHD foldable touchscreen display and a discreet Bluetooth keyboard accessory.

Peripherals are also included in the Intel Evo brand and they must have Thunderbolt connectivity and offer a fast activation time, fast charging and interoperability between devices. They can also use Bluetooth and be easy to pair and easy to switch between a PC and a phone. Intel is working with 150 partners to launch more products with this third Intel Evo certification.
