Intel could launch in the second half of 2018 new processors, this time with eight cores with Intel Z390 chipset, as Eurocom has escaped in a forum

Although there is no official date for the launch of the new Intel Coffee Lake processors, everything indicates that it could reach the market on October 5 or at least, that would confirm the leaks of information regarding these processors. These new processors keep the LGA 1151 socket, but require a new chipset, the Intel Z390, possibly because older chipsets cannot support six-core processors. Those who already have a Kaby Lake do not need a Coffee Lake and whoever wants to change their old equipment surely needs to change the motherboard so it is not a drama either.

The latest leak comes from Eurocom, a major manufacturer of laptops, which in an intentional oversight or not, has made the hare jump and in a forum has reported that in the second half of 2018, Intel will launch eight-core and sixteen-core processors processing threads. Everything points to direct competition with the AMD Ryzen, a solution that has reached the market, becoming a good option, for those who, in addition to playing, do other heavy tasks, such as editing photos and video, since there are few games that they support more than four cores.

These processors will already be of Ice Lake architecture, the replacement for the 10nm Cannon Lake that should arrive in the first half of the year, so Intel would also launch two families of processors next year, the same, something excessive. These new Intel processors will carry the Intel Z390 chipset, about which nothing is known. But that is already the distant future, the closest are the Coffee Lake and the i7 8700K, a high-performance mono-core processor, which can give a serious blow to AMD processors and can be a more optimal processor for streaming and who knows if for heavy tasks.
