Meta will use Artificial Intelligence to help with advertising
Meta has unveiled a suite of AI-powered tools to help advertisers create more effective ads on its platforms , including Facebook and Instagram . They have also introduced additional features for ad developers.
The announcement marks the introduction of its AI Sandbox which serves as a testing ground for the latest generative AI solutions for ad creation. Also part of the ad tools overhaul is the addition of features to the Meta Advantage suite. This has been designed to help creators and sellers automate their ads.
AI Sandbox will make ads in Meta more effective
The AI Sandbox, according to Meta, is " an opportunity for the company to understand what advertisers want and offer them a much simpler and faster way to achieve it ." At launch, it will include an AI writer designed to allow for text variation. This is very similar to what we've seen with Google's AI-powered generative assistants currently being rolled out in Docs and Gmail. The tool offers to rewrite ads to help marketers emphasize their message.
A couple of image-focused tools are also being tested in AI Sandbox. These include creating background images from text prompts and a resizing tool to help ads better fit different aspect ratios. This latter feature is expected to help advertisers run the same ad across posts, stories, videos , and other formats without having to manually resize it.
AI Sandbox is now live. It's currently being tested with a small group before a wider rollout in July. Meta also expects to add more features to the sandbox in the coming months. Other ad updates include the ability to include videos in catalog ads, an option to migrate manual campaigns to Advantage+ buys, performance comparisons for manual campaigns and their Advantage+ counterparts, and improved audience optimization.
