QNAP launches the TS-253Be and TS-453Be Quad-core NAS with M.2 SSD and 10GbE expandability, ideal for professional storage and multimedia applications.

QNAP® Systems, Inc. today introduced the 2-bay TS-253Be and 4-bay TS-453Be NAS, both powered by Intel quad-core processors. Featuring a PCIe expansion slot, the functionality of both NAS devices can be expanded to meet application needs, including M.2 SSD caching and 10GbE connectivity. The TS-53Be also boasts HDMI output and 4K H.264/H.265 transcoding for an enhanced multimedia experience, while its snapshot function helps protect data against potential ransomware threats.

With a 3455GHz quad-core Intel® Celeron® J1.5 processor (which can reach up to 2.3 GHz), 2GB / 4GB of DDR3L RAM (up to 8GB), dual Gigabit LAN ports, and 6Gb / s SATA hard drives and SSDs, the TS-x53Be series provides reliable performance of read / write speeds of up to 225MB / s and maintains the same excellent performance with accelerated AES-NI encryption. The TS-x53Be series supports snapshots, allowing users to quickly recover data in the event of accidental deletion / modification or a ransomware attack.

Users can install a QNAP QM2 card in the PCIe slot to add dual M.2 SSDs for improved SSD caching performance while also adding 10GbE (10GBASE-T LAN) connectivity. Combined with Qtier™ automated storage tiering technology, the TS-x53Be series helps achieve optimal storage utilization, making it ideal for small and medium-sized businesses and organizations. Alternatively, users can install a QNAP 10GBASE-T/SFP+ card, a USB 3.1 Gen2 10Gbps card, or a QNAP QWA-AC2600 wireless card, depending on their application requirements.

The TS-x53Be series provides five USB Type-A ports (one with one-touch copy) that make it easy to transfer large files. The series also supports 4K H.264 / H.265 4-channel hardware decoding and transcoding, allowing users to seamlessly play their media files through connected devices. The built-in speaker enables audio and playback alerts, while a 3.5mm audio jack allows the TS-x53Be to connect to dedicated speakers. Dual HDMI output supports 4K display up to 30Hz. Users can use the QNAP RM-IR004 remote control (sold separately) and use it with the QButton app to customize button functions and facilitate navigation.

The TS-x53Be series provides a variety of useful applications for everyday tasks from the integrated App Center. IFTTT Agent and Qfiling help automate user workflows to improve efficiency and productivity; Qsirch provides full-text search for quickly finding files; Qsync and Hybrid Backup Sync simplify file sharing and synchronization between devices; Cinema28 allows you to manage media files and connected media devices from a single platform; Surveillance Station offers 4 free IP camera channels (up to 40 channels with the purchase of additional licenses); and QVR Pro integrates video surveillance features into QTS, offering user-defined recording storage space, cross-platform client tools, camera controls, and intelligent IoT-based event management features.

Users can host virtual machines and containers on the TS-x53Be series using Virtualization Station and Container Station. Storage space can be flexibly expanded by using a UX-800P 8-bay or UX-500P 5-bay expansion unit or with QNAP VJBOD technology that enables unused space on a QNAP NAS to expand the capacity of other QNAP NAS.
