Qualcomm would have completed the Snapdragon 710 processor, for the mid-range
It seems that Qualcomm would have already completed the development of the Snapdragon 710 and soon they will begin to appear on a mid-range smartphone, among others, on two Xiaomi terminals.
The mid-range processors would be updated shortly thanks to the new Qualcomm processor, the new Snapdragon 710, a processor intended for mid-range terminals and that will arrive sometime in the first half of the year. This new SoC, how could it be otherwise, is based on ARM designs, but with improved capabilities and features customized for the manufacturer. It will integrate a Kryo architecture, which is characterized by combining the processor with Adreno integrated graphics, to offer great performance to the terminal.
The Snapdragon 710 is based on a configuration of the big.LITTLE type, which is made up of four Kryo 360 Gold cores, which can work at a frequency of 2GHz and is combined with four Kryo 360 Silver cores, these working at 1.6GHz. The possibility of finally integrating six Kryo 360 Silver cores and two Kryo 360 Gold cores is also discussed. The Kryo 360 Gold cores offer great power and performance, while the Kryo 360 Silver are characterized by being more energy efficient processors.
Along with these cores, Adreno 615 graphics will be integrated, to offer excellent performance in this section. This processor will be combined with a Snapdragon X16 modem, which allows download speeds of up to 1Gbps and a dual 260-bit Spectra 14 ISP, which allows a 26Mpx camera or two 13Mpx cameras.
Said Snapdragon 710 SoC is slightly below in performance of the Snapdragon 835, which is a high-end processor. This processor is equated in the Xiaomi Comet and Sirus terminals, both with OLED screen, Android 8.1 Oreo and regarding the battery, the first will have a 3.100mAh battery and the second a 3120mAh battery.
