Riot is testing to see if Valorant works on consoles

There is nothing to announce or confirm for now. Simply, Riot Games does not rule out that Valorant will reach consoles one day.

This week Valorant has finally come out, the Riot Games game that wants to face the trend of hero shooters. For now, Valorant is only available on PC, but it may end up on consoles like PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Riot Games may bring Valorant to consoles

Speaking to the Gamespot portal, Anna Donlan, the executive producer behind Valorant, confirmed that Riot Games is prototyping the game for consoles. However, it doesn't mean that the console release for Valorant will definitely happen in the future. They are simply prototyping and experimenting, like any other development company that a small group of developers can afford trying to port a game to a different system.

Going into detail, Donlan explained that there is a certain way to play and experience Valorant, and that needs to be fully translated if Riot Games is to bring the game to consoles. So if the team manages to bring the same unique experience to consoles, they are fully aware that they will release it on platforms other than PC. Although this is not what they are looking for at first, but they cannot rule it out for now.

Riot Games is increasingly reaching out to non-PC audiences, as League of Legends : Rift is slated for release on consoles and mobile devices in the near future, meaning Valorant isn't out of the question. They would need to adapt the controls and certain parameters to make the experience as similar as possible.

Although there are possibly clear differences as happens in the console version of Overwatch because the control between keyboard and time and console control is remarkable at a high level. It's all a matter of waiting for this port to be confirmed or discarded.
