The specialized medium TweakTown reports that an anonymous source has given it data on the performance of the new AMD RX Vega 56, which would yield much more than an NVIDIA GTX 1070.
Skip the first leak regarding the AMD RX Vega 56, graphics cards at the moment quite unknown and of which we have only seen the nano version, of which we know absolutely nothing. AMD presented it during the Capsaicin event of SIGGRAPH 2017, held last weekend, but I do get some images of it, we don't know much, except that it will be a cropped Vega GPU, with fewer Stream Processors than its older sisters, the RX Vega 64.
TweakTown has received a leak regarding these graphics cards and it is that this RX Vega 56 will have a performance quite similar to that of the GTX 1070, but with a price that could be around $ 400 (we do not know if with or without taxes and other fees ). The TweakTown source has commented that for the test, apart from the RX Vega 56, an Intel Core i7 7700K processor working at 4.2GHz has been used, combined with 16GB of DDR4 RAM @ 3000MHz and Windows was used as the operating system 10. The benchmarks have been executed in a resolution of 2560 × 1440.
The RX Vega 56 graphics card would have passed NVIDIA's GTX 1070 in games. Battlefield 1 has given 95.4FPS against the 72.2FPS that the GTX 1070 would have given, in Civilization VI it would have given 85.1FPS, against the 72.2FPS it would have given in the GTX 1070, DOOM would have offered 101.2FPS against the 84.6FPS that it would have given in the GTX 1070 and finally, in the COD: IW, 99.9FPS would have been obtained against the 92.1FPS that the GTX 1070 would give.
There are no screenshots of these benchmarks and they have been given as is and it has not been clarified much about the RX Vega 56 model and its frequencies. It seems that at least, it can destroy in performance with respect to the GTX 1070, since the RX Vega 64 would be at the height of the GTX 1080 or being slightly better than it. The performance improvement of the RX Vega 56 with respect to the NVIDIA GTX 1070 seems noticeable, now it only remains to know if the consumption will be moderate.

amd never hid that they always go for the mid-range of the market, for the most enthusiastic we know that they are late (a year after nvidia) and bad (consumption) but they have always defended that they fight for the mid-range, since nvidia They tend to always have their new cards go up a notch, the 1070 will perform like a 2060, the 1080 will perform like a 2070 etc ... therefore the mid-range or upper-middle range vega could be excellent rivals in that consumer spectrum. First, I agree that performance would be expected to be superior to AMD's proposition in these specific games, but what games are neutrals?

This is like the comparison of the Radeon 480 vs the Geforce 1060 of a year ago, some users claimed that AMD would take 20% of market share from Nvidia a year later the undisputed queen in the mid-range is the Geforce 1060, although all the Geforce have sold very well.
