We already know which is the first monitor on the market to have the DisplayHDR certification, developed by VESA and it is the Samsung CHG90, with DisplayHDR 600 certification.
A few weeks ago the Video Electronics Standards Association, also known as VESA, presented a series of standards to certify devices that are compatible with DisplayHDR technology and that depend on certain characteristics. Samsung launched the CHG90 monitor in August, the largest QLED gaming monitor on the market. The Samsung CHG90, after being subjected to a large number of tests, has been the first monitor on the market to be certified with DisplayHDR 600, which shows the quality of this monitor.
The problem was that there was no feature listing for the HDR standard for laptop monitors and displays. Anyone could say that their screen was HDR, even if it was of low quality, so the non-profit organization VESA, at the beginning of the year began working on a standard for this interface and thus ended up developing the DisplayHDR standard. This standard indicates whether the HDR technology available on a screen is of quality. The main characteristics that measure the quality of HDR is measured according to luminance, color gamut, bit depth and response time, among others.
This standard has three levels, the most basic being the DisplayHDR 400 and the most advanced the DisplayHDR 100, while the middle term would be the DisplayHDR 600, which is the case with this monitor, thanks to the quality of the bright interior lighting. Currently this monitor is out of the reach of ordinary mortals, since it has a 49-inch curved screen and a 32: 9 format, all for € 1.200. The price, of course, is out of reach for many, but it is one of the best monitors on the market, without a doubt.
