Samsung begins to test its folding smartphone

Samsung begins to test the prototypes of smartphones with a flexible screen, or as several sources call it, with two screens that can be bent up to 180 degrees.

Before, during and after the Mobile World Congress 2017, there was rumor about the possible presentation of a flexible smartphone by Samsung. This new smartphone was named the Galaxy X.

If already with the new Galaxy S8, Samsung innovated in the design of smartphones, putting on the table a terminal with the best design of the moment. Without underestimating the Mi Mix that was the pioneer of frameless smartphones, but is not officially marketed worldwide. Koreans want to go one step further, starting to tinker with smartphones with a flexible screen.

As we anticipated in the title, according to The Investor, the people of Samsung have begun to ask for certain components, which would be enough to manufacture between 2.000 and 3.000 prototypes.

This is not all that has been known, the leaked reports give some more information about the flexible terminal. The prototypes can be bent up to 180 degrees and will feature an organic diode panel.

How does Samsung manage to fold the panel? According to several sources, Samsung would be testing with two panels with AMOLED technology connected by a hinge and that they would be able to fold like a book.

All this information comes from anonymous sources in the industry, so you have to take this data with tweezers and let time pass until the data is confirmed. This is a race to see who can bring the first flexible smartphone to market. Other companies such as Apple or LG, are also taking out patents and innovations on new technologies and flexible components. But we will hardly see all this during this year.
